I will be posting guided visualizations and experiments for you to try on a fairly regular basis. I love leading people through imagery exercises, and using imagery on a daily basis has had, and continues to have a profound impact on my life. There are reasons for this, as shown by the latest brain research, and I will be posting about the effects of imagery on the brain in the near future.
There is no way to do an experiment or visualization exercise wrong. Whatever comes to you, even if it is blank or “nothing,” is valuable information. If there is a suggestion in one of the experiments or visualizations that doesn’t feel right for you, please ignore it or change it so it fits for you. Some people don’t visualize or see pictures, and that is fine. You may get feelings or thoughts instead of pictures. As I said, there is no way to do it wrong.
The guided visualizations and other experiments are not my unique inventions. They are a synthesis of what I have learned from therapists, teachers, books and dozens of workshops over the past 25 years. For many years I led workshops for and with Shakti Gawain (author of Creative Visualization and Living in the Light), and I learned much about visualization from Shakti. Most recently, I continue to learn from my wonderful teachers at Hartford Family Institute in West Hartford, CT.
